In Loving Memory of Jacob Andrew Moffatt July 28, 1988 – March 26, 2026
Jacob Andrew Moffatt, 37, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
Born on July 28, 1988, in Akron, Ohio, Jacob was known for his strong work ethic and determination. He approached life with practicality and intelligence. Whether in his career or personal pursuits, he gave his full effort and earned the respect of those around him.
He was preceded by his grandparents, Lloyd Junior Moffatt, Jaunita Carol Moffatt, and Reverend Oral Patton Maggard, aunts and uncles, Connie Sue Phipps, Michael Ray Maggard, and Ophel Alvin Maggard, and brother in-law, Glenn “Jay” Russell Lang, Jr.
To know Jacob was to know his humor. He had a quick wit, a natural ability to make others laugh, and a warm spirit that could lighten even the heaviest moments. His personality was magnetic- grounded in authenticity, and a deep care for the people in his life. He had a resourcefulness that reflected his sharp mind and unwavering drive.
A fan of all sports, he was a dedicated supporter of the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved wrestling, basketball, hockey, and so many more. A talented grill master and well-known foodie, he also found a quiet kind of peace near the water, and loved to fish.
Above all else, Jacob loved his family. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and friend whose presence brought strength, laughter, and a sense of steadiness to those around him. His many talents, and protective, generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
He is survived by his parents, Timothy Allen Moffatt and Sherri Lynn Maggard Moffatt; grandmother, Delphia Adkins Maggard, his sisters, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Moffatt and Julianne Nicole Lang, and niece, Valerie Bell Lang, as well as aunts and uncles, Carolyn (David) Thome, Charles Steven (Carolee) Maggard, Darryl Phipps and Kathy Maggard, and many extended family and close friends.
Jacob’s life reminds us that his truest legacy lies not in accomplishments alone, but in the quiet impact he left on those around him- in the compassion he showed, in the care he gave, and in the ways he chose to live.
