William Rippy Obituary
Mr. Rippy, age 61, of Charlotte, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at his residence. Born June 25, 1946 in Charlotte, he was a son of the late Frederick Llewellyn Rippy and Margaret Zell Rippy. Mr. Rippy graduated from East Mecklenburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Rippy was the former owner of Rippy Sales Agency, retired in 2000. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and brother.
The memorial service to celebrate the life of William Barry Rippy will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 1, 2007 at McEwen Funeral Service - Sharon Memorial Park with The Reverend Brad Hopper, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Jolene Riddle Rippy; two sons, William Barry Rippy, Jr. and Nathan Benjamin Rippy and his wife, Kimberly Owen Rippy, all of Charlotte; a brother, Frederick Llewellyn Rippy, Jr. of Clearwater, FL; and a sister, Elizabeth Anne Rippy of Charlotte. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rippy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Claude Rippy.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Deshmukh of Carolinas Neurosurgery and Spine Associates, Dr. Warden L. Woodard, III of Carolinas Hematology Oncology Associates and the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassionate care.
