Morgan Wilkerson, Jr.
Mr. Wilkerson, 55, of Charlotte, died May 7, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital. Bill was born August 6, 1951 in Lynchburg, VA to William Wilkerson, Sr. and Lois Wilkerson. He graduated from Myers Park High School, attended Wake Forest University and UNC-Chapel Hill, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Reed College in Portland, OR with a degree in Biology. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He was formerly employed as a nursing home administrator and counselor of troubled youth.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Freeman of Charlotte; daughters, Beth Wilkerson and Jessica Wilkerson of Laurens, SC; son, Patrick Wilkerson of MD; his father Bill Wilkerson, Sr. of Charlotte; dear friend, Myra Bumgarner of Cramerton; sister, Marcia Wiedeman and husband Paul 'Spike' of Charlotte; brother, Scott Wilkerson and wife Sarah of Charlotte; brother-in-law, David Larrabee of Tucson, AZ and nephews and nieces, Paul Wiedeman of Charlotte, Meredith Wilkerson-Larrabee of Tucson, AZ, and Jeff, Kristin, Sasha and Katelyn Wilkerson all of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his mother Lois Wilkerson in 1987 and a sister Deborah Wilkerson in 2005.
A Memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Friday, May 11, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at Hankins & Whittington, 1111 East Boulevard in Charlotte. The family will receive visitors prior to the service at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Feed the Children online at www.feedthechildren.org.

Bill played a huge part in my childhood life as a father figure. His passing came as a great shock to me. I pray that he has found peace with the Lord, and the Lord be with his surviving family members.
