Larry T. Reynolds

1944 - 2024

Larry T. Reynolds, 79, of Marble, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, in Chattanooga, Tenn.
He was a native of Clay County and graduated from Hayesville High School, where he enjoyed playing football.
Following graduation, Larry moved to Atlanta taking a job with Estes Heating & Air. He returned to Hayesville and established B&R Heating & Air, which he co-owned. Larry then took a job at the opening of Murphy Medical Center, where he worked in maintenance. He left Murphy Medical Center as maintenance supervisor. Larry and his wife opened two Solo Convenience Stores located in Marble and Andrews, which they ran for several years.
He was a member of Vengeance Creek Baptist Church.
Larry was a 50-year member of Clay Lodge No. 301. Larry volunteered much of his time coaching T-ball and Little League Baseball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was community minded and enjoyed helping people.
He was the son of the late Quentin and Lucille Hall Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sharon Reynolds; and brother-in-law, Carroll Owenby.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Debra Stiles Reynolds of Marble; a son, Brychan Reynolds and wife Sarah of Andrews; a sister, Willa Jean Owenby of Hiawassee, Ga.; two brothers, James Reynolds and wife Jan of Powder Springs, Ga., and Michael Reynolds and wife Tonda of Hayesville; a special niece, Ansley Willis; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Vengeance Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Phillip Hodge and Larry Sandidge officiating. The interment was in Vengeance Creek Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Jay Raxter, Shawn Force, Keith Sandidge, Alan Sandidge, Carlin Golden and David Golden. Honorary pallbearers were Marvin Jenkins, Marvin Guffey, Henry Shugart and Gary Rogers.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, where the body remained until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.
Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, was in charge of all arrangements.
