Paul Weatherington Obituary

Andy Weatherington, 67, of Youngsville, N.C., died peacefully on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, in his home after a brief battle with brain cancer.
After graduating from high school in Murphy, N.C., Andy moved to Atlanta, Ga., where he joined the pipefitters union and worked as a journeyman pipefitter until his late 20s. Seeking a career change, he returned to North Carolina and earned a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University and a master's degree in computer science and geography from UNC Chapel Hill.
After college, Andy worked as a GIS software designer for Intergraph in Huntsville, Ala. He had a long career in Information Systems Technology and retired from Duke Energy.
Andy was an enthusiast of American and Russian history, an avid reader of historical literature, and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Wake Forest, N.C., at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Youngsville Rescue & EMS, P.O. Box 78, Youngsville, NC 27596.
