Charles Bielecki Obituary
Bielecki, Charles M. retired, age 79, Korean War Veteran, Army Staff Sergeant "I" Company 31st infantry RCT, US 7th infantry division, proud member of the Chosin Few, holder of the Bronze Star for his actions in the battle of the Chosin Reservoir, passed away peacefully July 25, 2010, beloved husband of Veronica "Ronnie", loving father of Lee (CPD), Lori, Lynn (Andy), and the late Kim, proud grandfather (Papa) to Kymberly, John (USMC), Kristin, Kevin, and Ryan, cherished friend to William "Red" Ward, Judith Knight, and Blair Willard (retired Army), and his faithful canine companion "Winston". A special thanks to all of the Veterans who supported Charles during this most difficult time. Funeral service Thursday, July 29th, 10:00a.m., Matz Funeral Home, 3440 N. Central Ave. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, 3:00 to 9:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 145447, Cincinnati, OH 45250-5447 appreciated. 773-545-5420

dear grandpa. i miss you every day. lot has happen since you have left some good some bad and some ugly. the ugly part is you where right life is hell without. the bad i miss the times talking to you and listening to war stories and cubs games. good part the cubs finally won it all. ps. im glad me and mom proved you wrong it wasnt all roses but it was best two years of my life. longer then who you thought. only Regret i have is it took your passing and few more years to grow up and start listening to advice you gave. all is not roses but im 9 yrs sober and learning how to deal with the blows of life. cant wait tell you about it when my time comes

Pistol was one of my best soldiers in I company of the 31st Infantry. He was a ferocious fighter in many desperate combat situations during the Korean War and by his actions continued to raise the spirit of all who fought beside him.

I heard what a great friend and soldier he was for many years through his friend Lt. Blair Willard. You have the right to be proud of him and remember him with smiles on your faces. He is one of the "Greatest Generation". I thank him for his service and continued caring to his family, fellow veterans and his "4 legged companion." As you all grieve, also remember how lucky and enriched your lives have been for knowing him.

Pistol has always been one of my bestfriends and I will miss him so much. He and I were comrades in arms during many desperate battles against the enemy during the Korean War. His nickname Pistol is the result of him singlehandedly recovering his lost pistol after a fierce enemy assault aginst our unit was overcome.

Chuck was a good friend who has a wonderful, caring family. Anytime I needed to ask a question or had a concern regarding the veterans, he was always very helpful to me and my late husband. If it were not for Chuck and all the information and guidance he gave to Jim and me, we would not have known how the VA could help us. Also, he had a very good sense of humor and that is a special gift. May God be with all of you and know that now you are the lucky ones to have a special angel looking over you.

Ronnie and Family,
I am thinking of you all and praying for you all and wishing I could be with you at this time.
Even though none of us has ever met in person, we have a friendship through the internet, U.S.P.S. and the telephone and I feel so close to all of you.
"Pistol" was a hero to me. I have been honored to know and work with a lot of Korean War Veterans but Pistol was just so special. He served his country so bravely and during such adverse conditions. He braved not only an overwhelming enemy but the unfriendly elements in that frozen hell where he battled.
He really looked out for his men and he certainly earned the respect of Lt. Blair Willard and of all the men he served with.
When he came back he continued to serve his country on the local level, again putting himself on the line for the safety of others.
Pistol was the most loyal friend and I love him like a brother. You are all like family to me.
Ronnie, you and Pistol were a blessing to one another and you had a good life. I thank you for allowing me to be a part of it...as a dot.com friend!
