Dear Jane and family-- I only recently learned of Todd's death. I'm so sorry -- what a mentsch he was! It was a pleasure and a privilege to get to know him when I was teaching and tutoring Andy and Elizabeth. When i was hired as a tutor,at JRC, Arlie Rachlis suggested that I attend a few upcoming Bar and Bat Mitzvah services, to get a "feel" for the process; the first service I attended was Tony's, in late winter of 1983. I still remember Todd's eloquent words to Tony on that day, which ended with the wish that Tony grow "closer to god and closer to God." In the more than 30 years since, i have quoted that wish --- really more of a blessing--- to all my students as we begin our study. And I remind parents as they struggle on what to say to their children at the service that a thoughtful, spiritual statement of just a few words can have a profound, lasting effect beyond many paragraphs of exposition.
Todd was a blessing to his patients, to family and to the Evanston rod. He made our planet a kinder, more beautiful place to live and thrive. As we all know, his memory will be a blessing that bus all.

Dr. Davis took care of my son when he was 12 years old. He's now 40 and I know your husband, father or friend saved his life. My son had an acute illness that 'the kid never remembers and the mother never forgets.' My son was so sick and I was a wreck. I will never forget Dr. Davis' caring and compassionate manner with both of us. I'm sure he gave up valuable family time to take care of his patients but I want you to know that it mattered. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope his students become half the physician and person that Dr. David was.

My most sincere condolences to Todd's family. On top of being a wonderful mentor to resident physicians, Todd was a champion for nurses, asking their input daily, before he went to the bedside.
Todd created a non threatening environment for our nursing practice and encouraged all of us to trust our instincts. The nurses on 7 West were so comfortable with Todd, we did not hesitate to call his home if we were worried about anything. He was the only doc I ever called at home, ever! I have been so blessed to have Todd's influence and friendship in my career. God Bless A.Todd Davis!! Mary Ward RN, MSN

To Todd's Family

Dr. Davis took care of my son Tommy McGuinness for close to 15 years. Taking care of Tommy was only part of the picture...he took care of me and made sure I took care of my other children.
He taught me about life, respect, and many other things. Whenever I think about the 3 best things that happened to me in life outside of my family, meeting Dr. Davis is on the top of the list.

I am very sorry for your loss. He made such a difference in the world.

A very fine and dear colleague who inspired his fellow physicians as he cared for the most difficult of patient challenges. He was loved by those patients who were blessed by his extraordinary devotion to guiding them.
