Walking through Whole Foods a week or two ago, I was certain I saw Justice Greiman so I started to follow down the aisle the person had walked. Then it hit me: that dear, gentle man was no longer on this planet. My sympathies to all who still grieve for him.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Julie and to all the Greiman family on the passing of Alan, of blessed memory. Alan was a big man who lived a very big and full life, as a lawyer, lawmaker, trial court judge and appellate court justice. In all that he did, he was an accomplished leader. People sought out his advice and his opinions and he would share all he knew with them to be helpful. All along the way he made acquaintances who quickly became friends.
Larry Suffredin's eulogy and the remarks of Alan's daughters and grandchildren was very moving.
Again, our sincere sympathies to Julie and all their family.

I had the fortunate experience of growing up on the same Skokie block as the Greiman family. Bunny and I were close friends and I spent a lot of time at her house. My Catholic upbringing was culturally enriched by the Jewish traditions I shared with the Greimans. One of my vivid memories is sleeping in the Sukkah that Mr. Greiman built in the backyard.
My sister Jeanne and I were sad to hear about the passing of Mr. Greiman, but it brought back many fond memories of our childhood.
To Bunny and the Greiman Family, I am very sorry for your loss.

Rest In Peace Dear Judge Greiman. I truly enjoyed working with you at the Appellate Court. Thank you so much for your patience, kindness, guidance & so much more you showed Pat & I when we started. I know Suzi was right there to welcome you & probably said: "Well, what took you so long?" Your family & friends are in my thoughts & prayers. You were one in a million !!!!!

I think I'm too old to call Alan a mentor, friend will have to do. I still remember finding him on Daley Plaza, in 1978, sitting in the sun, reading The North Shall Rise Again, a book about investing union pension funds for the social good. (I can date it because the book had just come out, and I was thinking NO ONE would ever read it.) Not a best-seller, but it always reminded me of Alan's "policy chops". My condolences.

Condolences to Alan's family. He was a leader in the campaign to ratify the ERA in Illinois and I was activist. His work will never be forgotten. A good life with so many accomplishments.

Alan was a one of a kind person in all his roles and was one of my cherished mentors in the general assembly-I am confident many can say that on both sides of the aisle. He will be missed and I extend my sympathy to his loved ones. Thanks for taking such good care of him as his health failed.

Justice Greiman was my loudest cheerleader, who always encouraged me to be the best at what I chould be. My daughter Stephanie Curtis thought he chould walk on water, and chould do no wrong. He was a true hero to her and a beautiful light to us both. My deepest condolences and prayers to the entire Greiman/Hamos family. He truely will missed. Safe travels Justice Greiman. Thank you for always being being a bright light for me and Stephanie
