I cant believe its going on 14 years. How?! Why?!? I hope you are feeling great, wide open, listening to a great mix of music, lighting up your world with a flip of a toggle. You always lit up my life with just your smile and twinkling emerald eyes. Oh my dear friend, my true friend...I miss you so. I wish you were here - sometimes its just so overwhelming to know that I can't give you a hug. I know you'll always be with me, I hope you always know that my heart is always with you, but sometimes thats just not enough. I am so grateful for the time we had, yet wish I wish we had so much more.
Albert, my sweet friend, my amazing hero, I will always love you. I miss you and I will raise a coke to you on Sunday. I love you and miss you with all my heart.

My dear sweet wonderful Albert - I just can't seem to get over this and I don't know if I am supposed to. I have this terrible emptiness - missing you - hopefully my Mom is there with you. Boy, she loved you so much. Is it really coming upon 13 years? How could that be?
I love you Albert. I always have, I always will. Through and through and to my soul. You will never be forgotten - never.
Until next time, my friend....

I liked Victor very much. We never met face to face but only by email. I was one of the most controversial poets on his Starlite Cafe poetry forum. Other more conservative members, some of whom contributed funds to keep Starlite going objected strongly to my presence there. But Victor was always very polite and chatty in his emails to me and we got along well. I didn't get banned by him as the others wanted and I respected him for that. I detected a really good and tolerant man in him and I was so very sad when he passed away. I will ALWAYS remember him with fondness a a great deal of RESPECT. - Allan Tierney (KANEIX)

I think of you often, I go by a place that reminds me of you and I tell the kids " My friend Albert and I use to do this or we went here". My son loves Led Zepplin, I thought you'd get a kick out of that. He is only 8. I miss you so terribly. You are my friend and until we meet again, there is a part of me missing. I love you Albert.

I just found out after I searched for my old friend, Albert...I am in shock. To the Victors - you all knew how much I loved him - took him out to college - moved back to Chicago right after he did. I am so sorry for your loss - words will never fill the emptiness you must feel, as I now know a part of me is gone forever. Thank you for sharing him with me and I will never forget the concert he put on at your house for my 16th birthday after Led Zepplin cancelled. That was 32 years ago. I loved him - always.

Albert,

How you did wonders for our heart.
I know that I will miss being at Starlite under your care and guidance. I gained many friends and advice from being at the Starlite.

Now, I feel lost. I feel that I have nowhere to go.

I hope that Albert is in a safe and beautiful place and that I will join him there one day just as in Tuesdays with Morrie or the Five People you meet in heaven.

I will meet you there and be finally able to hug you and shake your hand. Thank you for being there for all of us. I will miss the Starlite family.

Still my heart is sadden by the passing of our dear friend Albert Victor. Not a day goes by that he is not thought of and remembered. For he did so much that I will always be thankful for. May he smile in the Heavens and rejoice until one day we meet again. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Victor Family,
My sincere sympathy to all of you!
You probably don't remember me as I came to your home back in 1965-1966 as a summer girl. I took care of Keith and Albert that summer. I remember them both with beautiful eyes and the sweetest little boys!

I was talking with another girl, Julie, that was a summer helper for the Weiss family and that is what prompted me to go in and see if I could find the Victor family and see if I could maybe contact you sometime and catch up! Was so surprised to see this guest book.

You have to be the right family as I remembered Sylvia and Keith and Herbie.

Again my deepest sympathy.

I will miss Albert. We ALL will. Cosmically- there is a big empty space to fill - galaxy sized shoes, if you will.

But no one can. And that's O.k.- we need that empty, aching, nebulousness to always remind us of him.

What a kind, gentle soul who has gone on to do great work in heaven as he did on earth. I had the pleasure of exchanging emails with Albert and he spoke of retiring in Florida.....asking questions about Florida, since I had retired there. I finally saw his picture and oh my what a handsome man he was. He looks as gentle as his actions and words. So many people all over the world were helped by his words and wisdom. I think Starlite Cafe has to be the best site on the web, where you can post poems, ask for help, and so many have been helped with prayers and so many friendships formed. God bless you Dear Albert....you will forever be in our hearts. Also, thanks to Tess and Alberts family for carrying on with Starlite. This was the best news I read in a long time. May the angels always fly high and leave love in our hearts for Albert. God Bless

"I KNOW THE ONE WHO CAN'

If words could heal your brok'n hearts
I'd send them straight to you . . .
But, words are little comfort for
what you've been going through ~

And, if I had a balm so rare
'twould take away your pain . . .
I'd use such precious ointment
cause your hearts to smile again ~

No, on my own, my broken ones
there is little I can do . . .
except to add my faith to yours
to know He'll see you through ~

He's the ONE to whom I go when
hurt is too hard to bear . . .
the ONE upon whom I depend
to answer every prayer ~

He IS the ONE I'm asking now
to make His presence known . . .
shelter you beneath His wings
'til all the heartache's gone ~

Humans can't do this for you
tho' intentions are so grand . . .
I just can't heal a brok'n heart
BUT ~I KNOW THE ONE WHO CAN !!!

May the God of all comfort keep you
all as He heals your grief and sorrow.

It is Thursday, April 19, 2007, I come with heavy heart to sign Mr. Albert Victor's guestbook. Such a wonderful person has left this earth and has his own star now twinkling bright at night. For good reason the name of his poetry site is 'The Starlite Cafe'. It beams starlight throughout the night with Poets and Poetesses from the four corners of this world. Mr. Albert Victor was a gift our Father in heaven loaned to us for a little while. Now, in heaven, I would have to imagine God appointing Mr. Albert Victor as Heaven's Poet Laureate. He shall be missed immensely. I know my eyes are bruised from weeping in grief and sorrow. Yet, something deep inside of me tells me when the sunlight sprinkles yellow gems during the day, there we shall also find Mr. Albert Victor. He shall radiate us with the honor of his memory both day and night...after all...Albert was the most grand Starliters of all. Mr. Keith, I thank you for the commendable job you took at task to care for your loving brother. God shall surely award you in heaven. I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to Mr. Albert Victor's family and friends. May the light of God's everlasting love shine upon you always and bring you peace. In His agape love, ~Capri~

Albert was one fine man and it was an honour to have known him. He was fair-minded, liberal-thinking, brave and deeply, deeply good. I know I and so many others will miss him so much. He believed passionately in freedom of speech and in standing up for what you felt was right, even if that was not popular at the time. There are few men ready to do this and we have needed every last one of them in these past few years. I salute you Albert and am so glad to have known you. ~ Allan

For Albert

For Albert
There are those who touch us deep in the heart
It takes time to know them truly
But when we do we are blessed to know them
They enhance our lives so fully

Albert was one of those with a special nature
He was not only strong but also kind
He not only believed in freedom he lived it
With a powerful and passionate mind

With a fair-minded approach he protected us
And protected our freedoms too
Tackling problems with diplomatic style
A good guy through and through

I wish I could have met him before he died
perhaps to share a beer (or a whisky) or two,
down in the local of his or my home town
to chat about our world, poetry too

I’ll miss this man who I never met
I’ll miss his constant fair-minded ways
I’ll miss his honest determination
And I'll miss him all my days…

I am so shocked. I had just got done signing a "thinking of you" card for Albert, when I read an email that informed me of his passing. From what I remember, Albert was a great man. If it weren't for the website that he created, I honestly don't think I would be where I am today in my writing career. I joined The Starlite Cafe about 7 or 8 years ago when I was only about 15. Starting out as an adolescent (amateur) poet, The Starlite Cafe guided me into new paths, and open up many opportunities in writing for me. I gained so much knowledge from what he created, and so many friends. I also remember mine and Albert's late night/early morning conversations via email. He was always there to lend a helping hand. May God be with all the friends and family of Albert Victor, may his poetry, legacy, and hopefully website continue to touch people's lives (as it has mine), and most of all...MAY GOD COMMAND HIS SOUL! He is home!

My sincerest condolences to all of Albert's family and friends.

I have been a Starlite Member for almost four years. Albert's dream to bring a place where all of us could gather and share our love of the written word, has become to all of us, so much more than just that. We are a family. We are a family that grieves his loss.

Starlite, is one of the most precious gifts I have ever received.

I want you, his real life family, to know how truly loved Albert is by all of us. His Starlite family grieves with you this day.

My sincerest sympathies, to you and yours, from me and mine.
