Alex Assimacopoulos, age 64, formerly of Kourni, Olympias, Elias, Greece, beloved husband of Georgia, nee Ligdas; loving father of Stavroula and Evangelos; devoted son of the late Evangelos and Stavroula Assimacopoulos; dear brother of Efthimios (Vasiliki) Assimacopoulos, Victoria (Nicholas) Stamatelopoulos and Konstantinos (Dina) Assimakopoulos; brother-in-law of Maria Koukourakis, Anastasia Kladis, John, Antonios, Angelos and Panagiotis Ligdas; fond cousin, godfather and uncle of many. Alex's passion was being outdoors and hunting. Visitation Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Glenview Chapel, 1104 N. Waukegan Rd. Family and friends will meet Monday morning at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, 7373 N. Caldwell Ave., Niles, IL 60714, for Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Haralambos Church would be appreciated. Arrangements by John G. Adinamis Funeral Director, Ltd. 847-901-4012.
