11/17/1995. 23 years ago today. It was casual Friday at work; I was in jeans, Reebok hi-tops, and the Chicago Bulls cap I liked to wear so often. You picked me up early so we could get to the courthouse, pick up the paperwork, and head to the Justice of the Peace on Patrick Street in Alexandria VA. We had a 2pm appointment with him the next day, but after he typed up a form, he said, Lets step into my office. We said, But were due back tomorrow! He said we could come back tomorrow, or do it then. We looked at each other, smiled, shrugged our shoulders, and stepped into his office. No one in attendance, no rings to exchange, no pictures taken. Just you and I. What a wonderful memory for me. Happy Anniversary, my dear.1117. Jamie, Michael and I miss you every day.

Yesterday was particularly hard. It marked 5 years since you left us. I know I don't have to explain anything...that you already know and feel everything I feel, but it is harder now than it ever has been.
But above everything else, I thank you for the six thousand nine hundred and forty eight days of your life that you chose to give to me.
I often think of Ninny Threadgoode when she said, Sometimes I can't wait to get to Heaven to see him again.
Until then...rest easy, my love.

Andy was Production Supervisor for the Navy Calibration Lab I worked in. He ALWAYS stood up for the folks who worked for him--even if it meant going nose-to-nose with his superiors. It was impressive to see and he gained the respect of all who knew him. And working with him was probably the most fun I had in the lab during my time there. He was tough when needed, had a sharp sense of humor and his kindness and sensitivity were always evident. I'll miss you, Duke.

I met Andy through work and we became friends instantly. I loved how he so openly spoke of the love for his family. I was sad when he told me of his illness. He seemed larger than life. Andy will be missed.
