Dear Mr. Ingrisano,

I had the pleasure of being a 3rd grade student of Mrs. Ingrisano, and I will never forget the way she encouraged her students to develop a love of reading, her beautiful pasta-making lessons (teaching us how to make it from scratch) on Exploremore day, how she would encourage us to leave her classroom "bright-eyed and bushy tailed," and I especially could not ever forget her infamous popcorn (she often said she could never get the recipe right without the help of her loving husband :).

I just learned of her passing today, and it reminded me of what a gift she had with children, and how her strong presence in the school made Brook Forest a warmer, more welcoming place.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May God be with you, and may Mrs. Ingrisano forever rest in peace.

Dear Tony,

It was only today that I heard of the passing of Mrs. I. Oddly enough, I had been thinking of her just recently with great admiration and respect. She was truly a master teacher, and one with a fabulous popcorn recipe to boot! I know how proud you must be of her, and the thousands of children whose lives she touched in such a positive way. I know that I am grateful of those students she influenced at District 53. I am saddened by your loss, but so very pleased to have had her in my life, and the lives of all our District 53 kids. We were truly blessed.

Mr.I,
We have been so saddened by Ann's passing. She was one of the great ones. One who genuinely loved her little learners and brought excitement and joy to learning. They always felt special. As a parent, I never doubted that it was Ann's creativity and her own enthusiasm for teaching and learning that sparked the fire of passion for learning among my three children: Jennifer, Mark, and Jim Kolbusz. I thank you, Ann Ingrisano, for loving what you did so well. We are all a little better off for know Ann.

Dear Mr. Ingrisano,
Please accept our deepest sympathy at this very sad time. Mrs. I. was a wonderful inspiration not only to her students, but to the parents who treasured their good fortune in entrusting their children to the charismatic, enthusiastic, loving teacher she was. We will never forget her delight in sharing Strega Nona and Italian cuisine at Exploremore Day. Her laugh was contagious, her smile unforgettable and her dedication incomparable. Her memory will live in our hearts forever.

Mr. Ingrisano,
My entire family and I send our prayers and condolences to you. Mrs. Ingrisano has been part of not only my life, but the lives of both of my sisters and my elder cousins who all attended Brook Forest. She was a gem of a woman, and she was the first person to tell my parents that she saw me as a "dreamer, but that she will go far in her life." Because of her, I have learned to become a better person, and I cherish all of the memories you both have given us through your visits to our classroom. "3-I" will forever be privileged to have known her and God has received another angel. Our hearts go out to you, Mr. Ingrisano.
Sincerely, The Sawlani Family (Natasha, Sabrina, Nikita, Amishi, and Purshotam Sawlani)

Dear Tony,
John and I want to express our sincere sympathy. You lost your soulmate. We lost a very dear friend, who had a wonderful sense of humor, a caring heart, and was one of the best teachers a child could have. We will always treasure our memories and the great times we shared. We know our angel, Ann, will be looking down on us from heaven. Tony we cherish your friendship, and we will always be there for you. Our son, Ryan, said about the lost of Ann, that they don't come any better than her. She had a heart of gold and made many better because of it.

Mr. I-
I just heard about your loss and needed to let you know how much you and Mrs. I have meant to my life even though we haven't seen one another for a very long time. When you're little (as many of us were of course when meeting Mrs. I), it's difficult to appreciate what a gift certain people can be to your life. Knowing her as a 9 year old, I thought Mrs. I was spectacular! She was warm, thoughtful, encouraging, spontaneous, and best of all, laughed heartily at the humor of a bunch of third graders :) As an adult, I am infinitely more amazed by her in my memory- simply because I have yet to meet someone as brightly shining. She was an excellent teacher that made me feel inspired and enthusiastic about learning - but more than that, she made me feel loved. When you're young and trying to take in the world, that can be life-changing... and it was for me. Thank you for being such a wonderful co-conspirator in her efforts to make us all feel unique and capable. You will both hold a special place in my heart always.
Love,
Kelly Cacioppo
