Anthony DeCola, age 96, passed away Nov. 8, 2007, beloved husband of the late Marie, nee Baldassari, for 55 years; loving father of the late Anthony Jr. (Antonia) DeCola; proud grandfather of Nicholas (Debbi), Susan (Jeff) Torres, Elizabeth Dugan and Nancy (Garret) Eatinger; great-grandfather of Matt, Rich, Doug, Dustin, Max, Jake, Rachel, Robby, Gabbi, Becca, Emma and Anthony; cherished son of the late Pasquale and Philamena, nee Mele; dear brother of Leah (Matt) Koczwanski and the late Sam, Mildred Keiner, Isabel Baldassari and Ida Bouchard. Funeral Monday, 9:30 a.m. from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, IL, to St. Alexander Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Entombment Queen of Heaven. Visitation Sunday 2 to 8 p.m. Anthony retired from the Northwestern Railroad after 55 years of service. He loved to play golf, cards and bocce ball. He will always be remembered for his dapper ways. When I think of "Mr. D" I always think of the word Gentleman. He certainly was. We think of ourselves as fortunate to have known him and able to play golf with him...he always beat me!
