Anthony J. "Tony" Plonis, age 77, Veteran of the Army National Guard, beloved husband of the late Catherine A. (nee McGuire). Loving father of Colletta (John) Kotarski. Cherished grandfather of Megan and Caitlin Kotarski. Dear brother of the late Michael (Shirley) Plonis. Fond brother-in-law of Joseph, the late Letitia, Rosaline, James, Frank, Margaret, Eileen and Norine. Devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews. "Mr. P" was a longtime and devoted teacher at St. Catherine of Alexandria School. Visitation Friday from 3-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday 10:45 a.m. from the Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Road to St. Catherine of Alexandria Church for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment: Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Sorry for the loss of your father. Mr plonis was my favorite of all teachers in grade school. He was a super nice guy,very easy going and a student favorite. Everyone liked Mr.Tony Plonis. Thanks Mr P.

I would like to share my sincere condolences to the Plonis family. Mr. P had a profound impact on my life as a musician. After I finished 8th grade at St. Catherines he became my piano teacher and changed the way I looked at music for the rest of my life. He taught me theory and structure of music. Up until that point I just played the notes on the page but he taught me why they were there and how I could use music theory to create and play in a way I hadn't imagined. It's over 40 years later,(I have played 1000's of jobs) and in 2014 I played the most gigs in one year in my life. Music has become a defining aspect of my life and he was responsible for setting me in the right direction. I will forever be grateful and have fond rememberences.

So sorry for the loss of your dad. Mr. Plonis or as the kids all called him Mr. P. taught all of my children. He was a wonderful teacher and just a good man. He will be truly missed. Our prayers are with your family.
