To the Perri Family
My husband and I knew Tony for 32 Years. He was a very good and kind man.
We took our son (now 31 years old) to him for his first haircut. My husband and son always went to him for a haircut until we moved to Georgia in 1992. Whenever my husband was in Chicago for a visit he would stop in Tony's shop.
We will always remember him for the candy he passed out, for always making you feel like family, for the way he would come out to say "Hi" when we walked by, and for just being Tony. There will never be anyone else like him. He was one of a kind.
We will truly miss him.
Our deepest sympathy,
Jerry & Patricia Barton and Family

Dearest Perri family, I have started this note 20 times, and still don't know where to start. Tony, and your whole family mean so much to me, I can not express it in words. I still see Tony at the b.b.q. grill on Ann street, in Lombard turning the Italian sausage, with my Father Joe, on a hot summers afternoon, ( I miss them all so much) The space in my heart will aways feel the pain, of lossing these loved ones. As so many others my Father would always go get his hair cut at Tonys place, no matter where he moved to. Not only because he was the best at what he did, but he was the best inside too, a friend, the famiy. The many picnics, events, that we spent with him and the whole family is my life, my memories, my soul, my entire being. Thank-you all for, how do I say it? For being part of my life. Sorry I talk to much, but I do love you all, and pray God will be with you at this time, and always. I wish I could be there. My prayers are with you. My God Bless you all. With deapest sympathy. Love Cathy,

I moved to Hanover Park in 1972, and one of the first people I met there was Tony. Aah. A barber and a shop in the old style. A cup of coffee, a donut, some Italian candy for the little kids--and bigger kids too! The place felt like a part of a family--not just a place to go in & get out of as fast as possible.
Later that year my Dad moved to Hanover Park, & he, too, became a regular.
I moved away to Algonquin in 1983, but, somehow, at haircut time, my old truck just seemed to point itself in Tony's direction and I've continued to visit and swap stories every few weeks ever since.
Such a kind and gracious man you were, Boss. We shared many stories and cares over the years. I will miss you deeply, old friend.
