Argyro "Argie" Valavanis, nee Rozakis; beloved wife of the late Kyriakos; loving mother of Magdalene (Jonathan) Kosoy, Panagiotis (Christine McClure) Valavanis and Stelios (Angela) Valavanis; devoted daughter of the late Stelios and Maria Rozakis; proud Yiayia of Kyriakina, Phileta and Ariana Valavanis; dear sister of Milton (Chrysanthe), Koula (the late Emmanuel) Symiakos, Irene (Angelo) Georgoudakis, Dimitra (the late Christos) Stavropoulos, Pavlos (Ekaterina) and Elpida (the late Vasili) Togias; fond aunt and friend of many. Argie "Mama" owned Cary's Lounge for 40 years. Visitation Monday from 4 to 9 p.m., at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Tuesday morning at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 5649 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago, IL 60660, for visitation from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Andrew Church, would be appreciated. Arrangements by JOHN G. ADINAMIS FUNERAL DIRECTOR, LTD. (773) 736-3833.

Argie was so full of life, and I am very glad I got to spend some time with her these last few years. Her hard work with her dear husband all those years makes a fantastic success story. I wish I could have known him, too. Thinking of all the family who I know are feeling a huge loss. My prayers are with you.
