Austin was born on January 2, 1996, in Brunswick, ME to Jeffrey & Cathleen (Moore) Currie. Until he was in seventh grade, Austin was homeschooled with his two siblings. The three of them loved learning, exploring the outdoors and simply spending time together as a family. In 2010, he enrolled at Hinsdale Adventist Academy, where he met Chandler Koerting. The two would soon become best friends and impossible to separate. After high school, Austin continued his education at Andrews University, where he studied mechanical engineering. One of his favorite places to go was Camp Akita. He loved spending time in the horse stable, renewing his passion for riding. Austin was never happier than when he was in the woods, climbing and hiking. If you needed something open, his knife was ready and he was willing to help. Austin's plans to one day travel the world were grand and full of adventure. His main goals were to see Japan and end world hunger. Austin was an incredible, kind and inspiring man, whose selfless actions will never be forgotten. Austin is survived by his parents, Jeffrey & Cathleen; siblings, Jeffrey "Taylor" and Morgan Nicole; grandparents; and many uncles, aunts, cousins & friends.
