Barbara Abrams Obituary

Barbara Jean Abrams passed away on June 30, 2023, at the age of 84 after a long illness. She was surrounded by her daughters at the time of her passing. Barbara was born on January 1, 1939 to Fan and Sidney Fabric in Milwaukee, WI. She attended Mount Sinai School of Nursing in Chicago, where she met the love of her life, Dr. David Abrams, in 1958. They were married for 62 years and had three daughters. Barbara, a longtime resident of Winnetka, was a selfless and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She greatly enjoyed the theater and opera and had a special fondness for music, singing, dancing, flowers and tennis, but most importantly, she loved the company of her friends and family. She was predeceased by her parents, Fan and Sidney Fabric and her husband David Abrams. She is survived by her three daughters, Leslie (Joe) Goodrich, Susie (Steve) Minkowitz, and Nancy Abrams; her five grandchildren Ben Goodrich (Grecia Rucoba), Julie Goodrich (Christian Cagle), Max, Lily and Jack Minkowitz; her beloved brother Ken Fabric, and many other family and friends. A special thanks to Amy Messina and Gloria Pasinabo for their support and kindness. Private services will be held.
