Barbara Borovsky Obituary

Barbara "Bobbi" (nee Gordon) Borovsky, 83, formerly of Chicago, Glencoe, IL, and Rancho Mirage, CA; most recently of Gidwitz Place, Deerfield, IL; beloved wife for nearly 62 years of the late Herbert L. Borovsky; loving mother of James (Emily), Ellen (David) Carmell, and David (Susie); proud grandmother of Amy (Matt) Jones, Sam (fiancée Jenna Cantor) Carmell, Hannah, Robert, Mindy, and Casey Borovsky; special great-grandmother of Olivia and Ryan Jones; daughter of the late Anne (nee Peretz) and Harry Gordon; sister of Susan Guttman of Palm Beach, FL, the late Harriet Wagman, and the late Marcia Gordon; sister-in-law of Richard Borovsky of Madison, WI; devoted and loyal friend who deeply cherished her lifelong relationships. Bobbi was raised in Fair Lawn, NJ and moved to Chicago after graduating from Vassar College at age 20 to marry Herb. She was an active community volunteer and activist, holding numerous leadership and board positions, and a stay-at-home Mom who felt her most important job in life was raising her children. She was an accomplished bridge player, lover of the arts, and avid reader until her final day. A private graveside service will be held on Friday at noon, which can be viewed on the Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Make a Gift - Support the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (cso.org) or the Jewish Women's Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago Donate to Jewish Women's Foundation (juf.org). I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Bobbi. She was a very special lady. I always enjoyed my time with her during our therapy session and always willing to go the extra mile.. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers during this time.

Bobbi I will miss you. You´re not just my Boss but you´re a FRIEND of mine that will remain in my heart. You are my strict Boss yet kind hearted. I will always treasure our friendship. I will never stop believing as you always remind me. You are a Friend of mine that will remain in my heart!
