Belle Shepis, 93, of Tucson and formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on October 6, 2006. Preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Peter, in 1964 and her daughter, Electra "Becky" Shepis; she is survived by her sons Greg (Michelle) Shepis and Nick (Sandra) Shepis; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Becky, Sarah, Peter, Nick, Chris and Alexandria; her great-granddaughter Mia and her sisters, June Gecan and Sophie Maniates. Early in her adult life, she was a substitute teacher, but quickly realized her first love was taking care of her family and she truly loved her church and entertaining her friends, enthusiastically greeting them in four different languages, subscribing to the belief that "to whom much has been given, much will be expected." She spent much of her time pursuing philanthropic pursuits. Graveside service Friday, 10:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 3401 West 87th Street, Evergreen Park. Arrangements by Blake-Lamb Funeral Home. 708-636-1193.
