Bishop Sellers Obituary
Bishop Franklin H Sellers, January 17, 2016 at age 89 in Naples Florida, of Marco Island, FL, Chicago and Philadelphia, Bishop Franklin H Sellers joined his beloved wife of 66 years, Doris Elaine Sellers who proceeded him to glory on March 31, 2015. They are survived by their four sons, Franklin Sellers, Jr. (Loretta), Walter Sellers (Julia), David Sellers (Patricia) and Paul Sellers (Jamal) along with several grandchildren. Franklin was born in 1926 in Philadelphia. He joined the US Army Air Corp to serve in WW II. After the war he entered the Theological Seminary of the Reformed Episcopal Church. In 1950 Franklin and Doris answered the call of St. Andrews Church on the south side of Chicago where he served as rector until 1990. Franklin was consecrated as Bishop of the Reformed Episcopal Church, Chicago Synod in Oct 1974. They retired to Florida in 1990 where he served as Presiding Bishop of the Reformed Episcopal Church. Franklin's life will be celebrated in a memorial service on Saturday February 6th at 11:00 A.M. at St Andrews Anglican Church in Tinley Park, IllinoisTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
