Blanche will always be in my heart, in my thoughts, and at my back, inspiring me to push ahead as she did and welcome the world's endless friendships and opportunities. She was a beautiful, remarkable woman, and I am so grateful to have had her in my life, even for a short time.

Blanche was a wonderful friend to my parents many years ago. I only met her a few times, but we exchanged holiday cards every year after my mother passed in l997. Blanche was one of those rare people one meets in life who are full of life and love and positive energy. What a blessing it is to have met her!!

May her memory continue to be a blessing! I didn't know her, but I've been blessed to know her fabulous granddaughter Jen Rose for several years -- we go to synagogue together (Congregation Am Tikva).

It has been a great privilege to get to know Blanche and her lovely circle of family and friends in recent years. As a neighbor of Blanche's, I have observed the vigor and enthusiasm for life that is unusual for people half her age, yet was quite apparent in the way Blanche negotiated her world. To her family, I extend a great deal of sympathy but also propose a toast to one of the kindest and most dear women that has inhabited this world. Thank goodness the world was treated to 107+ years of dearest Blanche!

I feel fortunate to have known Blanche and 'CoCo' since I was a child. When I think of them, I think of family and food! My introduction to the incredible food at Old Belgrade and of course my favorite crescent cookies are just a couple of memories. What incredible women they both were. If we could all live such amazingly dignified lives, and touch so many people. It feels like the end of an era. I hope that both Jennifer and Edward can find comfort in their loss through their family and friends as well as their incredible memories of life with Blanche.
With Love,
Amy

Having heard about Blanche from Jennifer for years, I had the pleasure of actually meeting her in November 2011. There she was, at 106, every bit the live-wire Jennifer had described her as being: alert, entertaining, and inquisitive. And what a life she led! An inspiration to all of us.

What a terrible loss, but what an extraordinary life. You have many wonderful memories so she will always be with you.

You made a large and lovely impression on my life, and I plan on drinking tea with you in the next, where you can teach me more srpsko-hrvatski. Even though you taught me an antiquated, and old-school version, Ja te Ljubim, you taught me how to say I love you in your first language and that has stayed deep in my heart my whole life. Peace on your journey, Friend
