I happen to be thinking about Dr. Drury and looked her up after 23 years! I was her personal nurse during her first year out of residency at North Suburban Clinic in Hoffman Estates! I just now found out about her passing. I am devastated to hear this horrific news. Dr. Drury and I were about a year apart. I remember admiring her for her great accomplishment on becoming an MD and having the privilege to work for her. She was very intelligent, kind, compassionate, witty and had a contagious laugh and beautiful smile. I know it´s almost 6 years since her passing, but I just had to send a messsage to her family. Tom, I think I met you once or twice after a long day at the clinic. I think you and Dr. Drury we´re still newly weds...? I am so sorry for your loss. May God bless you and your family as you continue to carry on.

Sincerely,
Lesa Gorbel (Masen)

I went to Dr. Drury for quite some time. She really cared about patients she really listened to you not like many doctors who only see you for five minutes. She took time with you. I was very sad to hear of her passing. My heart goes out to her and her family. She was a wonderful doctor.

I went to medical school at Northwestern with Bridget. I always thought she would make the perfect family doctor. She was pleasant, smart and kind. She always had a smile on her face in class.

I lost touch with her after medical school and only today heard of her passing. I was shocked at the news.

My thought and prayers are with her family today.
Sincerely,

Dr. Drury was my wife's PCP. One day I was very ill and came to the office for a sick visit. Dr. Drury was the only physician with an opening so I saw her that day. She knew from the minute she saw me I was extremely ill. She admitted me to the hospital and I ended up getting diagnosed with leukemia. I went on to have a stem cell transplant at Rush University medical center and today I'm a leukemia survivor of over 10 years. Since that day she became my PCP and followed my post transplant care. She is one of the people I credit with saving my life. She was a caring doctor and extremely intelligent. I'm so sorry to see she cancer has taken her from us. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband and kids.

As so many others, I was shocked and saddened upon learning of Dr. Drury's terminal cancer. She was my PCP for six years. Her knowledge and thoroughness were impressive and I had total confidence in her. I said many prayers for her and my deepest sympathy goes out to her family, colleagues and friends. Rest in Peace Dr. Drury.

I just found out the shocking news of Dr. Drury's passing today when my boyfriend was informed while in an appointment with Dr. Cash. I was a patient of hers when I first moved to Elk Grove Village in 2008. She was a wonderful doctor and took time to listen and not rush out. My insurance changed and sadly I had to change PCPs. I wasn't happy about that but had to change. I hope her family can heal in time to come. RIP Dr. Drury.

I met Bridget when we were both freshmen in high school. We were lab partners in Biology that year and disected a rat together - who can help but become life long friends when you have disected a rat together? Bridget put on three pairs of surgical gloves to disect that rat and still wouldnt touch it - I (of course) was swinging that poor thing around by its tail... I always thought it was funny which one of the two of us became the doctor!
So incredibly sad to hear of her passing, sending all the love in the world to Tom and her three children...

Dr Drury was an amazing soul and will be greatly missed by me and my family. My husband began seeing her as his primary doctor about five years ago, while I've been her patient for more than 15 years. He was very impressed with her thoroughness and thought she was a terrific doctor. When I would call to see her on moments notice, she would always squeeze me in. She made me feel like she really cared about me as a patient.
When I received the call that she would no longer be my doctor because she was sick, I cried. I couldnt stop thinking about her children, her husband, and her family. I just knew it was serious. I am going to miss her greatly. She was so young. Condolences to her family as I can't even imagine how they are feeling right now.

I had the honor of being one of her patients. She was through and caring. She always took time to chat about our mutual love of jewelry and accessories. Her children, husband & friends were her joy. Her girlfriend weekends brought her tremendous enjoyment. We all miss her. Heaven has another angel.

Dr. Drury is with Jesus now, but I miss her every day. She found a serious growth on my college daughter's ovary that other medical staff at a college town hospital missed. My daughter lost the ovary but now has a beautiful daughter eight years later. Thank you, Dr. Drury, for being thorough and caring. Three years ago this month I was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer. Dr. Drury identified the anomaly in my annual blood tests and immediately called me at home. I was at the oncologist two days later. I am doing very well and have Dr. Drury to thank. I was sick this past December and tried to see Dr. Drury, but her schedule was full so I saw another doctor. I never got to hug Bridget and talk about our children and talk about how much I cared for her and her family. How ironic that I am healthy and my doctor is in heaven. Jesus has our backs, but he wanted Dr. Drury now. May her husband, children, and parents know how much she was loved and missed by me and my daughter. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. Amen. Like so many other who have posted here, I will remember Dr. Drury as an excellent doctor and a kind soul. She always made me feel comfortable and listened carefully. After my knee replacement surgery, I was having a lot of pain. The specialist that did the surgery just thought I was a wimp and told me to give it another week or two to see if the pain went away. Dr. Drury sent me down for X-rays and had me wait until she could read the results. Then she called the orthopedic surgeon and told him that he needed to see me immediately, as the metal plate was shifting in my knee. She believed me when I said something was wrong and always tried to help. My deepest condolences to her family and her co-workers on this terrible loss. Long time patient, Maureen Sloan

Dr. Drury was my families' physician. She took care of my parents with dignity and compassion. My sister and I were grateful for her kind care to them. She helped my daughter through a difficult time. I am heartbroken over her loss. She had a GREAT smile! And she always remembered something personal about us at each visit. She loved to talk about her children:)
I pray that good memories sustain her family during this devastating loss!

Our prayers are with you all. She will be missed!

Dr. Drury was one of the best doctors I've had. She was the first one to really listen to what I had to say before an exam. She'd then complete the exam, i'd get dressed and then we'd discuss her plan for me. The first time I met her I told her how much I appreciated the time to get dressed, as it is kind of hard to explain what's wrong or listenwhile you're naked on a table covered in a paper gown. I appreciated all the extra time she would take with me. Such a terrible loss to the world. My condolences to her family. She was a truly great doctor and person, may she rest in peace. xoxo

My 20 year old son Dan in 2005 had just been diagnosed with a rare neuro disease called syringomyelia that left his left arm numb and throat numb that it was getting hard to breathe. This disease happened quickly, and as parents we were grasping for straws as to what to do.

A neuro doctor said he needed a referral from a Primary doctor. Our son did not have one, so we immediately went to see Dr. Drury as soon as we heard the diagnosis that same day.

Dr. Drury did an exam and got the referral going. The neuro doctor could not see our son for 2 weeks!! We were besides ourselves with anxiety!!

Dr. Drury did not know us, but she saw our pain and anguish. SHE contacted this neuro doctor that next HOUR and convinced him to see our son that next day!!

I will always remember Dr. Drury for her concern for us even though we were not her regular patients.

(Our son Dan had a great surgeon and is a healthy 32 year old today.)

Thank you, Dr. Drury for your passion for strangers.

It is with heavy heart that my friend, my Dr for 13 years passed! She was the best! She was a good friend, I could talk to her about anything! We laughed so much, she referred me to Dr Hottie and all the best Doctors only the ones she and her staff go to! She found the last lump in my breast, when I had my breast surgery, I can't even imagine what her family is going through, because I'm in disbelief! I know she's not hurting anymore, I know she's in a better place! I'm so great full she touched my life! Thank you for being my friend, my Dr and taking care of me for so many years! I wish I could've helped take care of you through your Cancer! It hit you so fast, so hard, so unfair! You were such a beautiful person, one I will always cherish! I didn't get to say goodbye, I checked the obituaries everyday for the last two weeks knowing your time was coming to an end. It wasn't in paper till today, the tears fell down my face at work, I took a deep breath and said a prayer for you! I will see you again some day, until then you can dance again, so dance with the Angels, And watch us above for you are missed and loved! I will always remember your smile, and that I'm truly sad God Bless

I've known Dr. Drury since 1998 when we both worked at the same clinic. I worked with the oncologist and the internal medicine group was right down the hallway. Coincidentally I saw Dr. Drury the last day she was with our hospital system. On August 1st, I was told Dr. Drury lost her battle with cancer. Tears flooded my eyes and I just could not understand why this beautiful, intelligent, compassionate person who gave so much of herself to others passed away. May God bless her husband, children and parents. This remarkable woman will not be forgotten. Love, Lucy Ziccardi - Oncology Nurse

When I was last looking for a doctor, I wanted to find a woman that was smart and empowering. I found that and more in Dr. Drury. She was wise, funny, cautious, compassionate, and always wanted to be sure that I understood everything that was happening in my unruly body. I can't imagine ever finding a doctor that will be able to fill her shoes. Thank you for sharing her with us. Her patients are better, healthier people for having known her. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I became one of her patient in the late 1990s and remained with her practice until her passing. She saved my life in September of 1999 when I suffered a dangerous allergic reaction to a medication proscribed by another doctor. While other doctors were debating my condition, she sprang into action and ordered a full scale emergency intervention that reversed the reaction. At the time she was in the last stages of her first pregnancy. I will miss her terribly and offer my deepest sympathy to her family.
