BRIDGET McDONNELL Obituary

Bridget Anne McDonnell; cherished daughter of the late Patrick and Ann, nee Lally; beloved sister of Maria (Peter) Barry, Pat, John and Marty; most loved aunt, Godmother and friend of Kathleen Barry; fond cousin of many; dear friend of many especially Madeline Doherty and lifelong friend Diana Seick; fun-loving Auntie Bridgie of Angela and Godmother of Michelle Seick. Bridget was an employee of Christian Brothers Services and former fourteen year employee of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. On March 1, at the young age of 50, Bridget passed away peacefully supported by her niece Kathleen and her long time buddy Diana after an over year-long fight of cancer. In life, Bridget had a strong faith and enjoyed believing in the best in people. She enjoyed making people smile and laugh. She cherished her many vacations with family and friends. She loved the outdoors, her time spent on the golf course, shopping, classic movies, music and dancing. Although Bridget could not reach out to everyone during her battle with cancer she was overwhelmed with the love, prayers and support from her family, friends, coworkers, former coworkers, acquaintances and all her healthcare teams especially those that helped her always have hope and to keep the faith. Funeral Saturday 10:15 a.m. from The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Rd. (at Prospect) Itasca, to St. Walter Church, Mass 11 a.m. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation Friday 3 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. For funeral info 630-250-8588 www.theoaksfh.com.

I worked with Bridget at AJG. She was a delight to know and had a warm and wonderful personality. I remember how she would bring candy as a bribe every time she brought down work to DCN. Bridget was a pleasure to work with and I am privileged to have known her. I send my sincere and deepest sympathy to all her family and friends. Keep her spirit alive in the telling of her stories and her antics. She will always be part of who you are and she will be truly missed by all who love her.
