Carol Narup Obituary

Carol Nelson Narup, 90, of Wheaton, IL passed away peacefully on July 24th. She was the dear mother of Mark (Cynthia), Douglas (LeeAnn), and David (Laurie); grandmother of Stefanie, Jonathan, Brittnee, Nicholas, Christopher, Bryn, and Leah; great-grandmother of Julia, Jedediah, David, Micah, and Cecilia. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Narup, grandson Steven Narup, and great-granddaughter Madison Narup. They are all rejoicing together in Heaven! Carol attended St.Olaf College where she graduated in 1954 with a degree in Biology. This is where her and Bob met, thanks to alphabetical seating! Carol served as a Med Tech for several years after college. Carol eventually started working as an LPN at the DuPage Convalescent Center. She worked there for 24 years until her retirement. In her free time, Carol enjoyed traveling, going to plays, spending time with family, and playing cards. In fact, she could often be spotted sitting at a bridge table as she belonged to many different groups. She also had a soft spot in her heart for the many dogs in our family. Carol was also active in the Women's Department Club and the Red Hat Society. Interment will be private at Arlington (VA) National Cemetery at a later date.

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.

July 20, 2023

Carol was my neighbor and she and my wife played in the same bridge club for many years. When my wife was in the nursing home, Carol and two others visited her and played bridge several times. My wife and I both appreciated that. We lost a good person when we lost Carol.

Dear Family, Carol and I were the only two cousins in the family who grew up in Minneapolis. Our families spent many holidays and happy times together. She always enjoyed coming back to MN for special occasions like family reunions. but she also tried to be here for the funerals as well. The last few years we have enjoyed many phone conversations talking about the family and times spent together from the time we were younger. She said it was so wonderful and that even after we hung up she would recall other memories. I will miss her dearly and she will always be in my heart. I pray that God will grant your family strength and peace to get through this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers. With Love and Sympathy, Joy

Dear Dave, Laurie and family, I'm so glad I got to know Carol. As you know, we had lunch at Windsor and also, a visit at the Johnson Health care center. I know she was a wonderful Mom because I know you, Dave. My sympathy to you. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Blessings,
from Ruth Gibson

For many years I was honored to perform side jobs for her and she was such a joy to be around. Her laughter and compassion was infectious. I am a much better person for having known her.
