To the Coffey Family,

I am sorry to hear about Charlie's passing. It has been my priveledge to have known Charlie through my dad and many CFD functions over the past years. He always had a smile on his face and was always in a great mood. He welcomed all, young or old, firemen or not, with open arms. He was taken from us much too soon. He had so much life left to live and share.

My thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time.

Cheryl, Kevin and the rest of the Coffey family. I was sadden to hear of Chuck's passing. Although I have not seen Chuck since my days on the CFD, my memories of our days at Mendel and football will never be forgotten. I am sure Chuck and Dietz are having a great time reminiscing. My condolences go to you and your entire family. Chuck was a good man and always a joy to be around.

Charlie, you've left us far too soon! I remember football games and pep rallies, and the goofy stuff we did at Mendel! I remember working for your dad as a young cop. You're a good man Charlie; rest in peace.

charlie was the guy i could rely on. his sense of humor, especially his quick one-liners, is something i'm going to miss. i enjoyed working with him. when we were told at the union meeting that he passed away, you could see on EVERYONE'S face the shock and sorrow of the news. for one person to touch so many that way is unique and will be missed. i hope he is having a good time in heaven.

To The Coffey Family,
My heart goes out to all of you. Growing up with Tim on the southwest side I was lucky enough to spend quite a few occasions with Chuckie over the years. What I remember most about those times is that they were always fun. I certainly hope that your memories of shared good times can give you some comfort. You and Chuck are in the thoughts and prayers of me and my family.

Charlie's Smile

February 14, 2008

What a tremendous loss for anyone who was fortunate enough to have known Charlie. I was always impressed at his zest for life. His attitude was infectious and I always felt a little brighter after talking with him. But what I will miss the most is his smile. I don't think I ever saw him when he wasn't smiling. This is how I will always remember him- with a smile on his face and a glass of Old Style in his hand. Rest in Peace Charlie! We will miss you!
