Charlotte Seinfeld Obituary
Mrs. Charlotte Lois Seinfeld died on January 1, 2014 at the age of 100 of natural causes at her residence in Chicago. Born April 9, 1913 in Kansas City, MO, she lived most of her life in Chicago, graduating from Senn H.S., and alumni of Northwestern University. She taught English as a second language, tutored at Truman College for newly arrived Russian immigrants, and assisted them to their US citizenship. Charlotte reviewed current releases at the Chicago Public Library's weekly Booklovers Breakfast. She also received numerous awards for volunteer efforts, including the State of Illinois, United Way, City of Chicago, Truman College, and City Colleges of Chicago. Survived by her daughter, Barbara Seinfeld, son Richard Seinfeld, grandchildren Stefanie Friedland of Bethesda, MD, Lawrence Carter of Evanston, IL, Amy Roth of Davenport, IA, Candy Hyman of Highland Park, IL, and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Piser Funeral Home 9200 N. Skokie Blvd, Skokie on Sunday, January 5th at 2:00 PM . Information 847-679-4740To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
