I met Chris in 8th grade at Immaculate Conception grade school. He, Bob Callebert, and I became good friends. Chris and Bob continued on to St. Viators high school while I went to Taft, the local public high school. We remained friends all through high school.
I moved from Chicago in 1973 to Shabbona, a small town west of Aurora. Chris and Bob and I stayed in touch, occasionally seeing each other. Life goes on, and we gradually stopped visiting, though Chris and I continued to exchange Christmas cards until 2006. I didn't receive a Card from Chris that year. In the spring of 2007 I received a letter from Annie, his sister, informing of his sudden passing. Knowing Chris to be a lifelong Republican, I made a donation in his name to the Illinois Democratic Party. I know Chris would have appreciated the humor in the donation. What a sense of humor he had! To this day I still tell some jokes I first heard from him. I think of him, especially during springtime.
My deepest condolences to all who miss him. He was a wonderful human being. Kind, generous, thoughtful and considerate to all.

Chris was a good friend all through high school. He always made all of us laugh and feel welcomed, especially during our weekly viewings of Monty Python. I've thought about him often throughout the years and would ask about him when I bumped into someone who knew him. I'm sad now I put off getting in contact with him since it's too late. A stark reminder to never take for granted those you care for since tomorrow may be too late.
The world seems allot emptier now that I know he is no longer with us. It rained yesterday. I'd like to think those were the tears of angels but not tears of sadness as I am crying now, but tears of laughter since, if you knew Chris, you know heaven is a much happier and funnier place now that he is there.
We will all miss you "Barney". Thanks for stopping by in our lives and giving us cherished memories. You will never be forgotten.

Uncle Chiis was a trip. Whenever we go to Costo and buy a gallon of pickles we will always remember coo-coo Chris.
Plus he kept holy a good 4th of July
We miss Him
