My first friend. My partner in childhood. How wonderful to spend time with your Chicago theater friends hearing so many stories of your kindness and generosity. What a legacy you have left. Not the least is your marriage to Bill. Life will be a little less full without you in it.

Dear Carl,
May you and your family be comforted by the memories of your son. My sister Janet told me how she met Chris so long ago in the Windy City. Seems he loved it then and was fortunate to settle there and experience love, friendship and fulfillment. I send my love and caring thoughts to you and your family.

Bill & Chris' family, Chris was such a kind and giving person! I knew him through the many years that he worked with The Griffin Theatre. All of us at the Griffin who knew and loved Chris are so deeply saddened at the news of his passing. He was a gentle light in the world and so talented, as well. Please accept my sincere condolences at such a big loss to you and to all of us.

I met Chris five years ago when I was hired at Northbrook Theatre. He was the stage manager for our Theatre for Young Audiences productions for years and I spent many Saturdays working with Chris. I always appreciated his kindness, helpfulness and humor. I feel fortunate that I (and our actors and staff) were able to meet, work with and get to know Chris. He was a wonderful person and I am incredibly sorry to hear that he has passed. Your family is, and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I am...shocked. I was just about to message you later to ask you something, and now that I find that you are gone.
We didn't met in the most conventional of ways, where you were hired to "stalk" me for an immersive experience...but we became fast friends after that show ended. I loved chatting about immersive theater and theater in general with you, and now...you're no longer with us.
I am so sorry to be missing your memorial, and I wish nothing but wonderful thoughts to all your friends and family. You will be missed, my friend.
Rest well.

My godson, my cousin... what a legacy! I read all of the posts and feel that you have to be proud of the man you are. Loving, caring, made me comfortable, helped me believe in myself, fun, supportive, an amazing friend, a loyal confidant, a faithful husband. Loving, or living the roller coaster called life. Protector and hero to Ryan. Able to face the haunted houses of past and present with humor, and laughter. An organizer, manager, keeping it all together. Chris you changed lives, you made a difference, you have left a major footprint on this earth.
Love to Bill, Linda, Carl, Bob, Karen, family and friends. Show him the new stage Ryan!

Chris was without a doubt one the most beautiful souls I've ever met. Bill, you and he were a reflection of love, support and how to live the and give the very best of oneself. You "changed" me into a Dreamgirl, but Chris was a dream to know, even for a short period of time. I'll remember him with love eternally! I love you.

Chris was in a play, Marvin's Room, at AKA in Tucson. My son,Owen, then about 14 was also in the play. As it happened Owen and Chris were waiting in the lobby to do an entrance when some nutcase entered with a gun. I will always credit Chris with being one hell of a grownup in the room and protecting Owen. Apart from that I always had a great time with Chris and felt he was a true friend. Thank you Chris. Love Hilary Pursehouse.
