Craig Riffle, age 42, Chicago longtime resident peacefully passed away in his Irving, Texas home on April 2, 2007, following a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). Craig was born to Ray and Sandra Riffle in Massachusetts on May 30, 1964. He graduated Cum Laude from Northwestern University in 1999, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Studies. He received the Volunteer of the Year Award from Chicago House in the 1990's and participated in the annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Ride. Craig was a beloved employee at Lexecon. He relocated to Irving last November. Whether as a close or casual friend, a co-worker or family, Craig's presence will be greatly missed. People often told Craig that they had never met anyone like him. He was adventurous throughout his life and inspired others to live their lives to the fullest. His passion for life showed in his love for motorcycles and his unbound spirit. His friends knew they could count on him in the most difficult moments. Craig's sense of humor helped him in his battle with ALS and remained with him even through the last days of his journey. He touched the hearts and minds of many people and left lifelong memories that they will cherish forever. At his request, a small memorial celebration will be held in the Portland, Oregon area where his ashes will be released at a time that is yet to be determined. Please contact Rob Tomlinson at 972-870-1111 or [email protected] for further details. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Craig's name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at www.mdausa.org or 3300 E. Sunrise Dr. in Tucson, AZ 85718.

Goodbye Craig. Just the other day I was thinking about you and wondered where you disappeared to. How sad I was when I found your picture in a local Chicago paper yesterday while having coffee. I'm sorry we did not have a chance to see each other before you left. You were very gifted and are missed.
