I was one of Danny's childhood friends from St. Bartholomew School and the 3600 block of Luna Avenue. He would have known me as Mickey Zmigrodski, not Garner, as my parents later changed our family name from Zmigrodski to Garner. My grandmother lived on Luna across the street from the Allegretti family. Danny and I graduated together from St. Bartholomew School in 1963. I just found out about Danny's passing at Christmas. I remember him as a kind and caring person and a talented athlete. How many times we played pick-up touch football games on Luna Avenue or baseball games at Chopin Park in the late 1950s and the early 1960s! He had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved and respected by all who knew him. I lost contact with him after high school. I will remember Danny and his family in my prayers. I am grateful for all the wonderful times I shared with Danny and his family during my youth and all the memories I hold in my heart of our good times together. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. I would have given anything to see him before he died and reminisce about growing up together. May God bless you and give you strength in this time of sadness.

I, like Roseann Coglan, went to St. Bart's with Danny and he is one of the few people who stands out in my mind from all those years ago. Sadly, I only knew him as a child but I am certain that that wonderful child grew into a fantastic man, as is evidenced by all these lovely entries in his honor. My heart goes out to all the members of his family and to his friends. I consider myself lucky to have been one of them.
I am a little late with this entry but I just found out about it. God bless you Danny's family. I know how emotional we Italians can be so I know how much he is missed.
Sincerely,
Charlotte (Bianchi) Wolnik

I was out of town when Dan passed away. Although I haven't seen him for many years I always think of his quiet strength, thoughtfulness and protection when we worked together at Forest(ICU). I am so deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Blessings on you and your family. Love,Harvey Wolf
