Daniel J. Helsdingen, 74, beloved husband of Mary Fran for 52 years; loving father of Patty Reed, Dan (Karyn) Helsdingen, Joan Ripoli, Mary (Tom) Ostrem, and Tom (Jenny) Helsdingen; proud grandpa of Dan, Jenny, Brian, Mike, Danielle, Nick, Jacob, Tommy, Lauren, Sarah, Ryan, Connor, Kayla, Meagan, Quinn and Luke; devoted brother of Jane (John) Kunka and Jim (Marge) Helsdingen; cherished son of the late Agnes and Henry Helsdingen; also loved by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Monday, 9:15 a.m. from the Brady-Gill Funeral Home, 2929 W. 87th St., Evergreen Park to St. John Fisher Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Just learned of Dan'spassing. He was a classmate and friend from Mt. Carmel ('52) and the CYO Rockets Band. He was a guy that instantly made friends with every one he met...a truly great guy! My prayers are with his family. His baritone has been added to God's eternal concert and marching band Rest in Peace Danny!.

My thoughts of Dan go back to our visits on Wabash Ave.,where I worked a newstand and Dan would stop by with his instrument in tow for a chat.He was always upbeat over a half a century ago.I'm sure he was dearly loved by all who knew him....
