Daniel Hix

1968 - 2018

Daniel Eugene Hix, 49, passed away on January 9, 2018. He was born September 25, 1968, in Elmhurst, IL, the son of Robert and Linda Hix (Horner) of Lombard, IL. He is survived by two children, Sarah Hix of Chicago and Mary Hix (Dylan Thomson) of Glendale Heights; his brother Chad Hix (Jennifer) of Batavia; and their children Bryce and Micaela Hix.Dan was a 1986 graduate of Glenbard North High School, as were both of his daughters. Danny loved construction and working with his hands. He treated everyone he worked with and worked for like family. He loved animals and helping others. Family was everything to Danny. He was a proud father of Sarah, a teacher, and Mary, a Navy Pharmacy Technician. He supported and encouraged his daughter's dreams without hesitation. His proudest moments as a father were when his oldest daughter, Sarah, went overseas to complete her teaching degree, and when his youngest daughter, Mary, received the highest possible honors upon graduating Naval Boot Camp. He was a talented drummer who could easily be convinced to play a mean "Wipeout" drum solo, and a captivating storyteller that could turn ordinary small talk into the best, most meaningful thing you heard that day. Danny was a loving son, devoted brother, incredible father, giving uncle, caring nephew, thoughtful cousin, and loyal friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
