As a 'second' is insignificant when compared to the total number of seconds in a lifetime, so too is our time remaining on earth as compared to infinity. See you in a few moments. Until then, just like you, we intend on enjoying our precious time here. I let you win at golf!!!

Hi Danny,

My favorite memories are the many happy times from when we were children. You were a wonderful OLDER brother. You and Richard were truly great to all of us kids when we were younger. You put on “movie” shows on Saturday nights, after baking cookies and popping corn for us in the afternoon.

I remember wonderful picnics, fun at the parks, bus trips to Foster Avenue Beach, all of the museums and Lincoln Park Zoo, family camping trips and lots of good fishing. Fun at Norwood Park and bicycle trips to Whelan Pool! All of the forts you and Richard and all of the neighborhood kids built underground and in trees (of course I viewed a lot of this from the tree that you and Richard would drag me up in and leave me there for safe-keeping. . .after all, you were supposed to be watching me!) and then you would always bribe me so that I wouldn’t tell Mom and Dad. My first ride in the “rumble seat” of your Model A Ford, my first ride on the back of your motor scooter. Rainy day games of Scrabble and Monopoly. Backyard pools and prairie skating rinks. Sled rides, snow forts and snowball fights. We always had so much fun!

I remember Uncle Rich bringing a puppy, Skipper, to the house for you as a gift, what a wonderful and smart dog! And then I remember Stormy, your Irish Setter. . .so beautiful and so tragic. . .Nagle Avenue was truly a killer as we well know. Then later you had “Happy Dog” and then in Mexico “Lobo” among many others. Your love for animals was always so apparent, and I hope that you were able to pick up your dear pets that were awaiting your arrival at “Rainbow Bridge”.

And finally, you have joined your brother and life-long best bud. . .Richard, and I’m sure the fun has resumed. Heaven will never be the same. I’m sure that Mom and Dad were there to greet you at the “Gate” with open arms, lots of love and hugs.

Although you are missed, Dan, I wouldn’t wish you back to suffer all of the pain you experienced over the past couple of years. You truly earned the peace you must be experiencing now.

Finally, in closing. . .ha, ha, ha, I can call you “Junior” and you can’t pull my braids or pony-tail. So, any time I want to get your attention in the future. . .just listen for me calling your name “Junior”. But, know that I do this with love. . .I give you back the name that all of us kids really knew you by.

I love you big brother, rest peacefully.

Your sister, Marilyn

My Brother Danny,
We spent so much time together, and yet never enough.
I thought I knew you, but again, alas, you shielded me the worst.
You were my brother, my godfather and my friend.
You always called me "Angel Girl" and made me feel special every time you spoke the words.

I will miss your laugh, your smile, your 'devil may care', but most of all, I will miss you.

I only wish I could have done more.
You are with our brother, Richard, Mom and Dad...surrounded in love and light and 'ner no more pain.

I Love You,

Angel Girl, Love Mary
