To My Best Friend & Sister-Law,

You truly will always be one of my best friends. All you ever did was help others with their issues, problems and feelings. I cannot begin to tell you how greatly you impacted my life. You reached out and supported me in a time when my life was a complete nightmare. Not a day goes by that a tear is not shed thinking of not seeing you with Brian and Alyssa. Being guardians for Alyssa & Brian in this short time has opened our eyes even more to the amazing Mother you were and will always be to them. Nicole and I both shake our heads everyday as to how you managed everything. I love you so much it hurts not having you here with the kids. We will never be able to fill your and Danny's shoes nor will we ever try. What we will promise you is to continue the values that you both have instilled in Brian and Alyssa. They’re both wonderful kids that Nicole and I love dearly. I struggle daily with how God could take you. If He is a loving God why would He take such a loving Mother who has given so much of her life to everyone. I think of everything that you've been in my life the one thing that hurts the most is Nicole losing her best friend and confidant. You were the sister she never had to love and confide in. Nicole always looked forward to your daily morning talks. We are both blessed to have you in our lives. I love you so much and I miss the smile on your face watching you play with Dani.

My memories of Darlene go back to the days when she was Alyssa & Brian's age. I so enjoyed being her neighbor and a close friend to the Lovstad family. Darlene was always smiling and her smile will be forever engraved on our hearts. I see by all of the guest book entries that she turned out to be a wonderful friend and a lovely lady who warmed the lives to all those around her. What a tribute - one that we would all love to have!! My deepest sympathy to her family.

We will never forget Darlene's kind words and sympathies upon my mom's passing from cancer. She understood what mom and our whole family was going through during her illness and final passing as she had experienced it firsthand herself. Darlene reached out to us and to my mom to provide comfort and encouragement. May now she be comforted eternally in peace.

A couple years ago I was sitting with Darlene at a baseball game. A friend of mine had passed away suddenly the day before and I was having a really hard time making sense of it. Darlene told me a story about rainbows and how they are a sign from our loved ones that they are still with us. Not even 5 minutes later a rainbow appeared in the distance and we both just lost it.
Early Sunday evening I was driving home from Sandwich and thinking about her and the children and how unfair it all is. It started to rain and right in front of me, over Yorkville, was a huge rainbow. I have to believe Darlene was right...I think she and Danny were right there with you all.
She will be so missed and forever remembered.

They both are now together two hearts joined as one. Looking down upon us to guide their daugthers and their sons.

McCue Family,

My family and I will like to extend our deepest sympathy and prayers. Was going to meet Darlene on "prom day" [our kids are dating each other]. We had planned to take pictures. Unfortunately, I was unable to, due to illness. ... May her memory be Eternal....

Darlene is one of the sweetest people I've ever met in my life. I've had the pleasure of working with her over the last few years. She always had a kind word for everyone. I will miss her loving spirit and warm smile. My deepest sympathy to her family and you will remain in my prayers.
