Our deepest sympathy to Family and friends….I knew David since our days at Amundsen High School, and there are so many great memories that we shared. In our last two years in High School, we did so much together, along with another friend Rich Ekman. They used to call us the “Three Musketeers”. Some of the things we did in High School probably shouldn’t be printed, but the memories are there, and we survived. Dave and I graduated High School the end of June in 1957, and we had no idea what we wanted to do for the future…. So, as two 17 year olds, we went over to six corners and enlisted in the Air Force on the Buddy Plan. However, we got separated after Basic Training and lost touch for some years…… But finally for the past twelve or more years we have been getting together whenever we can… Fishing on Lake Michigan; dinners in Chicago, when I am back visiting my children; and visiting him on two occasions in Florida with that crazy “Corvette” that he would let me drive. The three musketeers also spent a week together in Reno NV a couple years ago, and had a great time together. I’m very sad, my heart is heavy to have lost one of my best friends, and my sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.…. I will miss him so much and the memories will always be deep in my heart. He was a great family man, and a wonderful caring friend…..
Thanks, Ron Gerstung and wife Ellen

While I didn't know Dave personally, I always heard wonderful things about him; his incredible zest for life and what a good man he was. I'm saddened by the loss of someone who was not only so loved, but also had such an important role as a father and grandfather to several very special people. My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
