He was a very kind man. He was a huge lover of plants and an outstanding attorney. Rest in Peace, Dave.

The memories of my Uncle Dave start when I was young. From those wonderful family holiday gatherings we had at my grandmothers house for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New years Day. I remember the times when he would retreat to the basement with others to play pool and us kids would follow them to watch. These memories include the family gatherings at the apartment building behind Frank's Meats. for birthday parties, communions, etc. In addition, he would come to our house for similar parties. In those days we lived near each other so the visits were frequent. The childhood memories continue to the house in Highland Park off Clavey Ave. near the railroad tracks. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and relive them. My uncle was a quiet gentle man. He never raised his voice or had a temper or spoke a bad word about anyone. He was always respectful and kind and giving. Why do the good die young? We may never know the answer to that question. But it is a comfort to know his memory will live in our hearts forever. RIP Uncle
Dave

Dave was a good friend of mine for almost 50 years. We attended high school together, and would often play low-stakes poker at his house. We both attended U of I, and would see one another in passing. Whenever my wife and I were in Chicago, we would stop and have coffee or a meal with Dave and Kathy. My heart goes out to Kathy.

I worked with Dave at the Lutheran Center for many years until my retirement in 2010. Dave was a great person and a great colleague.

So sorry, Kathy, to hear this news. We have fond memories, of course, from the early days, and I had the privilege of being his trademark and copyright lawyer for ELCA. If there is any way I can be of any help, please let me know. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Jon Jacobson called me today to tell me of Dave's death. I was sad to hear the news. We left Chicago for Southern California in 1990. I have been working for IRS since 1991.
