Dino embraces "Philotimo," a Greek word without definition that embodies the goodness and generosity considered to be the highest of all Greek virtues for family, social living, and community. It is a way of life that all Greeks strive for. Rest easy love cindi

My grandfather Dino Leventis was a true family leader and always kept our family together. He was an exemplary husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a role model to all who knew him. He was someone who was always calm, collected, and who always had a positive outlook on life. His life was full and is the result of hard work, patience, persistence, and constant optimism; virtues of a true World War II survivor and Korean War veteran.
Personally, he was a true inspiration to me on how to live life. I am very thankful and honored to be named after him as he has been my greatest inspiration and role model. He engrained in me the desire to become a physician from a young age. However he also reminded me to constantly pursue my goals and to stop at no cost as obstacles are often just illusions. He taught me that anything worthwhile in life requires hard work and that taking time to complain is taking time away from reaching our goals but that it is also just as important to take time enjoy the fruits of our hard work and to enjoy the beautiful things that life has to offer.
Despite taking a brief detour from my pursuit of a career in medicine, my grandfather was always supportive of my decisions and career path. It was his examples, support, guidance, and unconditional love that drove me to constantly challenge myself to get the most out of life and to try and live my life to it's full potential. But most of all it was his belief in me that has driven me most to get to where I am today. His belief in me was the fire I needed to believe in myself. His optimism and selflessness was constant and easily appreciable even in his final days.
Words cannot describe how much we loved him however he is not lost. Selfishly we are sad, but we should instead celebrate his life. He lives in all of us and his legacy will live on forever. May he rest in peace with God. May he always watch down on us and may his memory be eternal.
