Mom,
I can't believe it's almost one year since you passed away. I have thought about you often, reflecting on your life and mine with you -- so many memories. I know you are in a good place, feeling happy and healthy with family and friends who have gone before you. God bless you. Peace be with you.

Hi Grandmother,
Unbelievably it's almost been a year since you left us. Time has gone by so fast--but not a day goes by that I don't remember you! Not only do Mike and I have one of the roses from the corner of your casket along with a cross from your casket proudly displayed in constant view above and in front our bed, we also have the daily, constant reminder of your generosity to us as you gave us all of your funiture. When you moved out of your condo and into Lexington while one part of your life ended at the condo, you enabled mine and Mike's to begin at our apartment by giving us all of your furniture. We were in no financial position to buy anything; so your generosity will always be remembered and appreciated!! We all still miss you and think of you so very often. I still can remember the day you left us like it was yesterday; Mom and I took you to the Morton Arboretum on that beautiful fall day--you were so happy to be getting out and enjoying some fresh air. You were even making plans for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and you thought you would be feeling up for being there with us. It was just so sudden that you were gone after that. When I got the call from my Dad that you had passed I could not believe it--just hours before you were admiring the beauty of nature with us...eating one of your favorite meals for what turned out to be the last time: a Portillo's Hot Dog with everything on it, and you even ate the hot peppers!! As you and Mom and me sat there eating our hot dog's together you told us about the celebrities of your day and I had never felt closer to you as a woman and more importantly as a friend. But then so soon after that you were taken from us by God. It still hurts me to think of that night at Lexington as we rushed to see you one last time. But you were finally at peace and looked so peaceful in your bed, you were finally able to breathe freely for the first time in well over a decade. And you know what? I know you are there...you are there everyday taking care and watching over all of us and I am grateful for that. You were very strong your whole adult life--you had to be to raise both Mom and Aunt Kathy alone in that era when is just wan't done like that with a woman all alone. I've been able to look to that strength already a few times in the last year when life has felt just too overwhelming for me and I remember what you were able to accomplish and it has helped so dearly in those hard times I've had and I've been able to make it through. I love you, Grandmother! I miss you, too!! I only wish we could've had more time to get to know each other as adults and friends. I had just started to chip away at the iceberg of Dolores Krebs and was starting to see the beautiful ROSE inside--so caring and kind! Always wondering how I was doing--even calling me about better job opportunities for Mike! You were a great woman and we miss you dearly, Grandmother!! All I can ask is for you to continue to guide us all and watch us all as we go through our lives now without you--and even though you are not on Earth with us anymore we will always know that you are still with us.

I love you, Grandmother!

Love always,
Kathy Latall--Granddaughter

Dear Grandmother,

I wanted to be the very first to sign your guestbook. I love you so very much and I miss you more than I can describe in words!! I feel as though I was just starting to learn about the woman inside of you. I know that you are in a better place now and I hope that you know that you will always be in my heart and mind. Mike, of course, is feeling deep sorrow as well. He loved you like you were his own grandmother. And the way that you immediately accepted him made him feel so close to you. Thanks to your generosity, every moment of every day that I spend in our apartment, I think of you. You will always be near having your things in my home now. I love you, Grandmother. I want you to rest now and remember that you were loved and will never be forgotten. Breathe easy now, Grandmother! I love you and I will see you again someday.

Love always,

Kathy--devoted grandaughter
