Dorothy Libner Obituary

Dorothy M. Libner, 85, of Geneva passed Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. She was born March 20, 1926 in Aurora, IL to Joseph and Margaret Ernst. She was a teacher at five different schools, Plato Center High School for one year, Batavia High School for four years, Arlington Heights High School for one year, Oak Park High, Night School, and a Business Ed professor at Triton College in River Grove for 23 years. Dorothy is survived by her husband Raymond; two sons, Richard (Joan), Mark (Ann) Libner; and a daughter Karen (Matt) Kasperkiewicz; eight grandchildren, Eliot, Heidi, Mitchell, Andrew, Neil, Lisa, Eric, and Anthony; a brother Joseph (Helen) Ernst; and a sister Joan Gronquist; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Donald. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St. (Rte. 64), St. Charles from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct 13 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Rd., Geneva. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva. In lieu of flowers, donations to the YMCA of the Rockies, 2515 Tunnel Rd., Estes Park, CO 80511 or www.ymcarockies.org. Susan and I send our deepest sympathies to the family and Mr. Libner. So many memories with the family; blueberry picking, Estes Park, Boy Scouts and etc. Mrs. Libner was always a no nonsense caring person.
She and Mr. Libner are examples of the "greatest generation".
