Janet,

You may remember the little boy Billy from your time on School Street. I remember you and Ed fondly.

Something in my circle made me look to see if perhaps you all were still around. I am sorry to see Ed's passing. Both my mom (Sharon) and dad (Bill Sr) have passed 2013 and 2011 respectively.

Dear Edward Druffel Family,

I want to express my sincere sympathy with the passing of Edward.

The Memorial service today was by far the most uplifting celebration for your Husband,Father, and Grandfather I have ever experienced.I left the service feeling that I knew Ed for thirty years ,and yet unfortunately we never met. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to know and work with John.

God bless the Druffel Family

Dear Jan & Family:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. I have very clear memories of my Uncle Ed, some going back to the early 1960's at grandma’s great family parties on Oketo. I always watched Ed carefully and admired his attitude: he was ruggedly handsome with fine, chiseled features, his mind and body were lithe and sinewy in a cat-like way, his hair lightly greased back like it was forever 1956, his expression part snarl, part smile until he let out a laugh, he was cooler than Elvis, Marlon Brando and James Dean combined. He became a leader of men and when I met firemen who worked for him they spoke reverently about him. I still see him dancing with you Jan, gliding gracefully as one, laughing joyously. A few years back, I was running for the first tee at Chevy Chase, when I heard a voice say, “Hey, kid, you gotta check in with the starter!” I turned around and it was Ed. He had been sick, but looked great. We talked about having a family reunion and laughed together for the last time.
