Elizabeth Meier Obituary

Elizabeth D. Meier, age 77, of Elmhurst, beloved mother of Carroll (Fred) Meier-Riemer, Lindsey (John) Connolly and David Meier; proud grandmother of Lisa Cascarano, Joseph (Lisa) Cascarano, John Connolly Jr., Lauren Connolly, Gregory Connolly, David Meier III and Savannah Meier; fond cousin of Gordon Bednorz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and William Ernest Dyrenforth and numerous aunts and uncles. Mrs. Meier was born and raised in Evanston and was a graduate of Northwestern University, where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. After marrying, she moved to Oak Park where she lived for 32 years until moving to Elmhurst in 1980. She was director and board chairman of the Elmhurst Family YMCA, a director and board president of the Ray Graham Foundation and an honorary board member of the Elmhurst Art Museum. Visitation at the Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York Rd., Elmhurst on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 from 3 to 9 p.m. and where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, officiated by Rev. Dr. Ernest Huntzinger. Interment Oakridge Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated for the Ray Graham Association, 420 W. Madison, Elmhurst, IL 60126. For info 630-834-1133.
