My sincere condolences to all those who knew and loved Harold.

I had the privilege to know the Captain while in the Academy on O'Brien St., later working with him at the present Academy and through Jackie. Through all I found that on the surface he could be tough as nails but underneath beat the heart of a true gentleman and one interested in helping you.

Prayers for the Captain and family from us.

Capt. Brown was stationed at the Police Academy when I went for my physical and was summarily dismissed for supposed poor eye sight.

When I went before him and pleaded my case that my eye sight wasn't bad, and my eyes had just been checked a couple of weeks before when I had gotten out of the Marine Corps, he immediately scheduled another test for me, and of course I passed that one.

If it hadn't been for him I never would have gotten on the job, and retired after 31 years service.

I have been retired now for almost 8 years and still remember him for getting me on the job.

Thanks again fellow Marine, and tell all my other departed brothers Semper Fi, I will see you all again, just not too soon I hope!
