Erica Brief, nee Greenbaum, age 81. Beloved wife of Rabbi Neil Brief for 57 years. Cherished mother of Dena (Jerry) Wald, David (Hazel) Brief and Debra (Bruce) Hoffen. Devoted grandmother of Joel and Naomi Wald, Nava (Yehoshua) Fried, Micha, Yasmina, Libi, Aviel and Yona Brief, Sara and Frances Hoffen. Dear sister of Joann "Honey" Greenbaum and the late Selma (Charlie) Ochs. Rebbitzen Emerita of Ezra-Habonim, the Niles Township Jewish Congregation and retired teacher of Am Yisrael and Arie Crown day schools. Azkara services Sunday October 19th, 10:30 AM at Ezra-Habonim, the Niles Township Jewish Congregation 4500 Dempster Street, Skokie. A private family interment was held at Shalom Memorial Park. Shiva from 5PM-9PM Sunday evening at the Synagogue. Contributions in Erica's name to Ezra-Habonim, the Niles Township Jewish Congregation would be appreciated. Rabbi Brief and family,
Barb and I would like to offer our deepest condolences to you. We were so sorry to hear of Erica's passing. She was so full of life and so very sweet. We have beautiful cherished memories of her from the many times we would sit with her after Friday night services. We felt blessed to have had her and yourself as part of our wedding 38 1/2 years ago as well as other occasions when we have seen both of you.

I was so very sorry to hear of Erica's passing. Mitch and I are in Greece, otherwise I would definitely pay a Shiva call. Joanne, I hope you remember me. Every time I would see Erica I would ask about you. Erica was a special person, beloved by all who knew her. My thoughts are with the whole family.
