June 19, 1931-December 2, 2014 Erwin S. Korzen, 83, of Beverly Hills passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday morning. For 59 years Erwin's partner in life and love has been his wife Carolyn. Erwin was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Erwin is survived by his three children and their spouses: Brooke and Derek Spalding, of Las Vegas; Kim and Greg Neistat, of Buffalo Grove; and Brad Korzen and Kelly Wearstler, of Beverly Hills; He is also survived by five beloved grandchildren; Matthew, Amanda, and Emma Neistat and Oliver and Elliott Korzen. He was born to the late Morris Korzen and Beatrice Kravitz on June 19, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois. Erwin attended Austin High School and played football there including on the regional champion Austin West End Lions team of 1947. Erwin became a successful bowling proprietor and real estate investor. His love for bowling was profound; at one time a proprietor of 6 centers in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana including the infamous Town and Country Bowl in Northlake, Il. Erwin held true to his belief that the customer came first and lived by his saying, "I never wanted to be the biggest chain of bowling alleys, just the best." The Korzen chain of bowling centers will continue in this tradition as he so desired led by his business partner and the Korzen family. Truly one of this worlds most generous people, he was loved and respected by his many friends from all walks of life. Funeral services will be held Friday December 5th at the Hillside Memorial Park, Los Angeles, in the large chapel at 11:00am. (800) 576-1994.
