It´s been 4 years since Gene left us, but my memories of a great boss and good friend are still vivid. Thinking of Ann, Karen, Maureen and Sean, today. Cherish the happy memories of the good times you shared with your husband and father.

Gene was the first person to call me right after my first born son Robby III was delivered. Ever the gentleman that loved life's excitement and all its glory. A gift for my son arrived about three weeks later. It was a toddler size " Directors Chair " with his name spelled across the back. I will forever cherish our relationship. God Bless Gene Connolly!

Dear Ann,,

I was so saddened of the news of the passing of your beloved Husband and friend of so many. Gene taught me so much the days we spent at Discover Card together. He was so wise and gentle but always a man of high values and principles.
There were so many things I admired of your husband but none more than his love for his Family and the Lord. He would never waiver when it came to doing the right thing.
I know God has him right now and Gene is asking Him for an assignment somewhere in his beloved Ireland. I will cherish the many laughs and great times he gave me and I know you and his Family will do as well. What a great example he was for your children and grandchildren.
Memories are forever and everyone who knew Gene was a very fortunate person.

God Bless you and your family,

Larry Burke

My thoughts and prayers are with the Connolly family. I had the honor and pleasure to work for Gene at Discover Financial Services. Words cannot express how much I learned under Gene's mentoring and even more so to be a responsible and upstanding person. Gene demonstrated all that is good and right in a person and set the standard for all to follow. The world is a lesser place without Gene!
