Florence Mary Olson, nee Durkin, born Sept. 24, 1912 in Chicago, IL, died Sept. 8, 2008 in Tacoma, WA, dear mother of
Joseph Edward Olson; and niece of
Margaret Hines Conrad. After attending Mundelein College, Florence graduated from the Chicago Teachers College.
Florence taught in Chicago before and during WWII. In 1944, she married Joseph M. Olson, a Chicago-born Air Force officer, and followed his career around the world for 30 years. She has resided in Olympia, WA for the past 35 years.
