Jim and Mary, I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing.

Jim and Mary,

When I learned of your mother’s passing, I felt abiding sorrow. I was privileged to be her niece , to love and have been loved by her. I can only imagine what it must have been like to have her for a mother, for she was truly the best sister my father could have dreamed of having and, in turn, a wonderful gift as my aunt.

I am bereft that your Uncle Truett and I are not able to be there with you, but in this message to you, words are all I have to express those wordless feelings that fill our minds and hearts. Words are simply not enough, but I will try my best to convey my thoughts to you about your mother.

Aunt Frances poured forth love on a daily basis. She was witty, beautiful inside and out, classy, down to earth, accepting of others, and fun to be around. She was an honorable woman and committed to whatever she put her mind to and whatever needed doing. She was a great model for me and for all women. She showed everyone gentleness, warmth, and compassion. Certainly there are other words I could use… affectionate, dedicated, intelligent, dependable, motivating, and inspiring… a lexicon of superlatives that could never be enough. I always thought of her as something akin to an angel on earth, but now she is truly in God’s hands.

I am heartened (as I am certain you are ) that rather than words, it’s her image and cherished memories that are inscribed within our hearts, for she left us all a legacy of love. Grover, Trey, Matthew, Jennifer, Mandy, and I send our love to you and to Eric a well. I promise to tell my grandchildren stories of their wonderful great, great aunt. She would have adored them all (Sean, Joe, Maggie, Pete, Caleb, and Elise).

I loved her dearly and I love my cousins.
