I was a student nurse and RN at St Anne's Hospital. I remember Dr. Banich fondly for his kindness and generosity. He was a wonderful surgeon. My mother was also a nurse at St Anne's Hospital and spoke very highly of Him. God Bless you DR Banich and my condolences to your family.

Frank was one of my first friends in college and we stayed friends through medical school....I remember eating dinner at his house and spending time with his family.. We were lab partners in many classes and he was a talented hard working doctor. I regret not having spent more time with him as we aged...he was a good friend and a fine doctor.

To the family of Dr. Banich.
What a wonderful man he was. Had it not been for him, I wouldn't have gotten a job in the O.R. I was pregnant working on 3N and they wouldn't hire anyone pregnant in the O.R. Well, Dr. Banich made it happen. I spent 24 years circulating in his room. What a great surgeon and wonderful gentleman he was. Always talking about his children. Cant believe how much he loved you all. He even took my husbands appendix out on Valentines Day 1991. He gave me grief for making him work that evening, but it was funny. I'll never forget him giving one of his used cars away to a Scrub Tech that couldn't afford a car. He had a heart of gold. There are soooo many stories about Dr. Banich. Lastly,,,,,nobody ever dressed as sharp as he did. What a sophisticated man. May God rest his soul, may his wife and 3 beautiful children find a way to go on. The Operating Room hasn't been the same since he left us. Respectfully, Mary Zaiter.

Frank and I were in med school together and I even had the privilege of having dinner at his house. We were lab mates and I have had nothing but fond memories of him I last saw him at our 50th reunion and was looking forward to seeing him next year. I will miss him and hope the family takes joy in his life and acomplishments.

Surgeons like him do not come along everyday. Add in a nice human being. Great combo. He was definitely an asset as a doctor and an human being.

I had the good fortune to work with Dr. Banich while at St. Anne's in surgery. "Frank the B" we would call him because he was THE BEST!!! Gregarious, personable, and very skilled, he was a beacon of light that emitted kindness, compassion, and heart. Rest in Peace.
