I worked with Frank at WJOL from November 1983 until June of 1985. Not only was he a major on-air talent, he literally was the voice of the Joliet community, and one of the nicest people I ever worked with. I remember so many things about him, including how he knew exactly how to pronounce all of the European ethnic names that I had to pronounce when I read the obituaries on air. He really was one of a kind and I am so grateful and lucky that I knew Frank O´Leary.

Frank was the chief announcer when I was hired as an announcer and disc jockey circa: 1963. The entire area of Joliet, Illinois and surrounding towns loved Frank and his on-air style. My wife, Maxine and I are deeply saddened to learn of his passing. May his memory be only for a blessing.

A true legend and the "Voice of Joliet". I was a regular guest on Frank´s call in show back in the mid 1980´s. As nice of a guy off the air as he was on. Frank will be missed by so many who have fond memories of WJOL in its heyday.
